Literature searching services
Literature search advice and research proposals
The team has a wealth of experience and can advise on the design of literature searches for all 'shapes and sizes' of evidence syntheses and for grant writing in health and multi-disciplinary topics. We also advise on EndNote and research dissemination.
Research Proposals
We have over 10 years experience in using literature searches to develop successful applications for research grants. Proposal (grant) searches include:
1. checking the evidence in support of research proposal and/or
2. planning the search and reference management methods for a proposed systematic review.

NHS staff and academic staff in West Yorkshire can book an RDS advice clinic to discuss literature searches to support a research proposal via the NIHR Research Design Service for Yorkshire and the Humber.
Bespoke Project Searches
We design and execute bespoke literature searches for projects including rapid reviews, systematic reviews, evidence syntheses and targeted literature reviews. The information specialists work alongside the researchers, carefully developing search strategies to meet specific criteria. All searches are peer-reviewed. Search activities are fully documented so that search methods can be detailed in research papers in accordance with PRISMA and similar publishing guidance.
